Here’s a project I’ve been working on for a while now and it’s finally far enough along to show some progress It’s built off of a Nerf Vucan with a lot of fabricated and found parts. I hope you guys will approve and I look forward to showing you folks the finished product soon!
Hey Folks! Welcome back for what I hope will be an awesome year here in 2014! In addition to putting out some great new projects, I’m really excited to be making it out to some conventions and festivals this year! One that I’m really excited about is the Space Coast Nerd Fest in Melbourne, Florida (http://www.spacecoastnerdfest.org/) on April 12th. I’ll be part of a panel on prop making along with a number of other builders, so you’ll definitely want to check that out! We’ll also have a booth to show off some of the work you see here on the website as well as hopefully answer questions you might have! This will be a lot more than you’re use to at the typical convention, so I encourage you to check it out!
I’ll be posting more events as the year progresses, but in the meantime, be sure to check back for all the cool props and videos that are on the way!
As always, thank you very much for your support and I’ll see you guys soon!
Hey guys! Sorry for the slow posting here lately, it’s been quite hectic in the shop and when that happens I tend to forget about posting up the results. Now that the convention season is over I will get back into my usual groove, I promise!
Today’s projects is the Rueful Axe from Skyrim, but with a few changes made mainly to the handle. The friend who requested this piece will be using it on the wall of his Viking-style “Great Hall”. We decided to make the handle longer to better balance the weight of that massive axe head and it also made the overall piece more substantial for displaying.
The blade was originally sculpted in clay by my pal Robert Righter. It was then moulded and cast with resin before the paint was applied. The handled is a combination of real wood and epoxy clay that was used to make the collar pieces as well as the ringed cap at the bottom.
Thanks for checking it out and please check back soon for more cool stuff. If you have a chance, also check out and subscribe to my Youtube channel (http://www.youtube.com/johnsonarms) where I’ll be posting up videos of the finished projects as well as more tutorials and advice for those also interested in making props! Thank you!
Hello there! Welcome back for another installment of “what is Brian doing now??” It’s been a few weeks since the last update, so I’ll add some photos of works in progress as well as a few finished pieces. If you have any questions or wish to inquire about a commission, please send me an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Thanks!
I wanted to share the latest prop build here at Johnson Arms. After seeing the new film Elysium and looking through the “Art of” book, I was possed with the idea pf building my very own Chemrail replica. It just so happens that the new Nerf Centurion is 39in long and exactly the same as the prop used in the film. This was obviously fate taunting me and I fell for it
Below is the result of a two day, 30 hour speed build. There are elements I wished to include, but could not include unfortunately. I hope you will see past these issues and still enjoy the results. I give all my thanks to the artists at WETA who made the original and get a kick out of seeing it in Nerfy form, haha.
Thanks for visiting and please don’t be a stranger!
