NERF Barrel Break

A few updates from the shop tonight. The first two are “Boo”, Jayne’s gun from Firefly and Serenity fame. I decided to go with a unique color scheme and these photos show the gun at about 85% done. The last photo is a Barrel Break I’m working on and it’s about 90% done!

May I ask you, how did you paint your barrel break? Have you done all the parts individually or all together. And if all individual, how did you took it apart?

Well, I take apart as much as I can and then I spend about an hour masking off the gun. After I paint those parts I remove the tape and then mask again on other parts. Then I get down to the detail painting and thats just really being careful and having a steady hand :)

Thanks Vincent! It’s just a combination of brushwork and color blending. I developed that from trial and error, so practice I think is the best way to get good at it. You may also look up faux wood finish on google. Good luck!
