Hey everyone! Sorry, but no new photos yet because I actually took a few days off to go to Orlando for MegaCon. That was a good decision I’ve never seen so many people just enjoying themselves at one time! I also admit I saw a lot of firsts, not all of them images I wanted in my brain. But I digress… I ended up selling two of the three guns I took with me before I got to the ticket counter, so I ended up having some cash to spend. (Forgot what that felt like…heh). I ended up buying a PKD Blaster replica kit from the movie Blade runner, so although I’ll most likely sell it, it will still be a lot of fun to make one of my favorite movie guns. Some day I’ll find a reasonable way to get my hands on a M41-A Pulse Rifle from Aliens, but then I’ll have to pry it out of my hands after I finish it!
So another week is almost at an end, and I’m tired! Looking forward to heading to MegaCon in Orlando, FLorida with some fine folks on TheRPF.com (The Replica Props Forum). If you’re going, let me know. I’ll look forward to seeing you there!
So I picked up a pistol grip shotgun and a P90 airsoft today, more to have an excuse to shoot it if I’m to be honest here. I started the sanding and prep today and hopefully in a week I’ll have some finished photos to share with you folks. For this week, I finished up a couple Longshots, a Recon and several other projects. It makes for a busy week, but I see each new gun as another learning experience. I feel very blessed to be able to practice and sell the results.
Oh, I’m also working on Zach’s HALO styled Spectre. It’s looking good already! 😉
So here’s how the drawing played out! I used a randomizer with everyone’s name and the first one was my Brother, so he was DISQUALIFIED! 😉 Ok, it was my mistake when I added his name to the list. (He can get a gun any time he pleases…for putting up with me for his whole life, hehe). So the second name that popped up was….*drum roll*…..
He’ll get to decide on the gun/color scheme for any of the nerf pistols I mentioned previously and shipped in a limited edition* plain brown box! He’s also going to get a spiffy photo of his gun to use as wall paper or just generally gloat to friends via email/facebook/ect.. It’s up to you, Zach!
Thanks again for everyone who participated and please check back because I’m going to try to have a new give-away each month. One prize per person, per year, just to make it fair for everyone!
Ok, so we’re about 3 days out and I just wanted to thank all the people who have visited and also those who have subscribed. I’m still a bit new with WP so I’m still not sure why some people are having issues adding themselves, but in the interest of fairness, I’m going to choose one person from any subscribers or folks who have commented on the site. I’ll hope you’re coming back because I don’t have a way to contact someone who is not subscribed and I really don’t want people having to post their email addresses on here. Might find your inbox filled with viagra spam!
Final decision on the prize is as follows: Choice of one: Maverick, Nite Finder, or the core gun of the Spectre (no suppressor or stock, sorry!). You can also choose from the HALO-style green/tan/black or more of the District 9 style gray/white/black with whatever accent color you want (default is the florescent orange/red similar to the movie)
If you just hate those options, I’ll still find something you’ll like, promise.
Anyone outside the US who would like to make this hurt a little less is welcome to cover the postage I’ve had a few offers of that already and I really appreciate it. Regardless, I will still ensure you get your prize!
