Sorry for a short post tonight, but I wanted to get a few photos up before heading out. I painted the rear part of the Vigilon to get a sense of the color-scheme (military/HALO-ish) and from that I think the gun will look pretty cool when it’s all done. I also started breaking up the canvas that is my NERF version of Vera from the TV show Firefly. That’s one heck of a detailed prop and so I’m doing my best to replicate the different surfaces. I’m certain it will look good when it’s done, but I’m shooting for great so we’ll see how the next week goes!
Enjoy the pictures and thank you for visiting my humble little blog site.
Spent a good part of the day at the workshop and I think I got a lot accomplished. Too tired to know for sure..I’ll check to see what I actually did tomorrow Hope these photos will work until I get some good sunlight tomorrow!
Second primer on the Vigilon
Vera getting some detail work now
Finished Lanard X8 in steel and brass
Lanard X6 Work in progress, but getting along nicely!
Thanks to a generous gift in the mail today , I started work on a custom painted Nerf Vigilon from the upcoming Vortex series. It was stamped with a few odd phrases…DO. NOT. SELL. I didn’t pay a dime, so I’m going to assume I won’t have my doors kicked in any time soon! I posted some photos below of the gun out of the box as well as into the sanding phase. It’s got putty drying right now, but tomorrow I should be ready to base coat and then get after masking this weekend. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it comes out, because I have no idea what I’m going to do with it at the moment
Stay tuned, as the photos show there are some other cool props in the works as well! Add me on facebook if you want to see more WIP photos of this and all the other silliness! facebook.com/johnson.arms

Enjoy and have a great weekend!
Long Las inspired NERF Longstrike
Arctic N7 needs the final weathering..
Might recall the last one of these…looks good again! Score!
HALO inspired assault rifle. Recon and Longstrike, Just needs the weathering, but some people like them looking fresh
You guys and gals make this all worth it. I don’t have the money to advertise, but through your awesome sharing I’m seeing more new faces, faster, than ever before. I wish I could thank you all individually, but one problem is I don’t speak all those languages, and two, I’m not sure I’d live long enough to write all those emails Thanks for chacking out my hobby here and I’ll be forever in you debt…debts..manI should have paid more attention in English class *grin*
Harrison Krix and his team made this awesome prop for Bioware’s Comic-con booth. They made it in about 2 weeks. Incredible work Have a look, there’s even a speed video of some weathering of another very cool Mass Effect gun.
Insanely hot day today, but I was busy cleaning up the shop and finishing up a few things (guns mebbe?). Wanted to share a few pictures, but they’ll get the final photos as soon as the decals arrive.
First gun is a modified Nerf Longstrike. I added the barrels to the front for a buddy who needed a Long Las style gun for his WH group. I’m hoping he’ll be happy with how it comes out. The decals are in bright gold so they should look really cool withthe dark background. This was a really fun gun to build, so I may just have to do more body mods in the future…maybe on a Vera gun..hmm.
This next photo is one you’ll think you’ve seen before, but this is a twin of the red N7 Stampede I posted not too long ago. I did change up the weathering a bit, to make it unique hopefully. Just needs those dang decals. Hurry up USPS!
Thanks for visiting and let me know if I can help ya with any projects you’re working on!
Hey everyone, I didn’t have a lot of time this weekend for snapping photos, but those will be here very soon. I’m currently waiting on the decals for a few guns and just waiting for the other few things to dry out completely.
I’m going to be adding another tab to the site soon, it will have some pretty cool resin replicas that people have asked about. Some of these include Master Chief’s Pisol from HALO, Han Solo’s Blaster, Mal’s Revolver from Firefly, and about 50+ additional models that I’ll add as I see a need. The kit’s are made by ArsenalModels.com and you can request a PDF catalog by emailing Ed at firstname.lastname@example.org. Let him know you heard about their site here, I’d appreciate it Once you have the list, let me know what you need and we’ll get them ordered!
Ok, on to the photos…there are precious few tonight, sorry!
Here’s Nerf Recon body that I used in addition to a Longstrike front barrel (shortened the barrel a bit) and a Raider stock. The scope was not available for the quick photo op, unfortunately. This photo shows the gun as it sits now, it’s just needing the detailing and weathering and it’s all done. Not sure what I’m going to do with it, but I’m sure I’ll think of something. Let me know if you can use it or something similar.
The small gun in the photo is a Sharpshot and it was just there because the colorschemes were the same!
Tape still on
A little cap gun made his way into the mix..
Anyone wanting one of those Lanards? (Painted!) I got a few more in
So until the next update, thanks for all you guys do to share my little hobby around the internet. I’m humbled by the response sometimes and hope I’m meeting expectations! Take care and let me know if I can help you out on a question, problem or even a commission!
