Firefly Resin Replica Complete – Mal’s Pistol in Steel

Hope everyone’s getting ready for Halloween and putting the finishing touches on their costumes and decorations.   For anyone who’s not into celebrating that sort of thing…happy Monday?  😉

So I finished the Wilco resin kit of Mal’s pistol from Firefly.  It’s a really clean cast, but unfortunately the handle is not 100% authentic.  I guess you gotta make some concessions when it comes to the more reasonably priced models.  Beyond that, the gun is unmistakable.  This particular version was done in the TV show’s steel color.  The movie used a very bronze / brass color that also looks great.

Based on the response I plan to order more of these kits to offer to anyone else looking for a very nice display piece.  You can email me directly if you’re interested.  I also am more than happy to paint your provided kits for this or any other gun you happen to be a fan of.   I promise you won’t be disappointed in the final results!

Enjoy the pictures and I’ll be posting some other completed projects in the next day or so.  I also just received two of Jayne’s Lemat pistol as well as some other really cool resin prop kits from the show and movie. Be sure to check back soon!

All the Best,
Brian

G33kwatch.com’s Charity N7 Stampede is Complete

I was contacted a few months ago by Joseph Valenti, a member of the crew over at http://G33kwatch.com (G33kwatch).  He had seen the red N7 Stampede on Etsy and inquired about me donating a gun to their charity event on November  25-27th of this year.   While I’m always eager to help when I can, I did at first honestly think “Couldn’t he have seen a Scout or a Maverick that he really liked?”   Heh.   So I put on my detective hat and did some googling to see if this was legit or an attempt to score a free gun.   Well, I found more than enough info to know they were legit and in fact really was impressed with the amount of work they did for Child’s Play (a charity branch of Penny Arcade).  After seeing what THEY were doing, I felt compelled to more forward with making another rifle for their auction.  I hope it will be a good addition to the really amazing stuff also being auctioned off during the event.  Check it out here: http://masseffect.g33kwatch.com/raffle-prizes/auctions/.

Ok, I hope I made sense with that, I’m currently sporting the latest flu bug that’s sweeping the southeast.  If I got any of the info wrong, I’ll ammend it as soon as I realize the error :)

Alright!  On with the photos…

A few things done, more things started!

Hey All,

Lots of new faces today, many thanks to IGN.com and Kotaku.com for the very cool articles on my Mass Effect themed Stampede.  I truly do this for fun of it and being able to share it with others is a real cool deal.  I appreciate every visit and hope you guys will continue to enjoy the guns as I move into more modified bodies and less of the stock variety.  That’s just been a limitation of time and having the right space for the equipment I’d like to have.   Something to work for, I guess :)

Here’s a few more photos of some recent stuff – mostly finished or almost-so.  More photos soon :)

You guys can also check out a few videos I’ve posted on Youtube if you want.  Mostly older stuff, but some of that is pretty cool.  You can find them here:  http://www.youtube.com/user/BillofWrongs?feature=mhee

Mass Effect Maverick Almost done – Steampunk Lanard X8 and more

Yes, back on the computer where I can do a proper update..ok, proper for me anyways..hehe.   Some of these will be familiar, but I got photos with the DSLR this time :) I’ll be on vacation next week so I’m hoping to get a lot done and actually do some spring cleaning…in the fall. Yep. Hehe

Kind of Blase Runner inspired, but not after any particular gun. Borrowed the slide for the photo, but the final one will look more like the body..I think.. Lousy iP4 photo..come on 4S!!
