So I got a few solid resin reach pistols from a guy by the name of Smick6 on The RPF. They’re very nicely done and I hope the paintwork compliments his castings

Weathered up this scout and decided to try out my new rubber coating. It’s designed for dipping so applying with a brush was a bit tricky. After a few tries I think it came out cool and properly weathered to match the rest of the gun. It feels good too, like there’s actually something other thank plastic in your hand
Just a few more small details and it’s ready to ship out to its new Spartan owner!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! (Those in the US, of course, but we can all take a day to give thanks for what he have, ay?)
I’m working on a lot of new stuff, but here’s a few photos to give you guys a look. Let me know what you think!
Nerf Element Film Prop in progress
My side project 😉
and here’s a bonus photo of the Mass Effect 2 M5 Phalanx resin kit. Still a bit to do, but it’s getting there!
aaand here’s a photo of the second almost finished Firefly pistol. Darker grips on this one compared to the first.
Yes, back on the computer where I can do a proper update..ok, proper for me anyways..hehe. Some of these will be familiar, but I got photos with the DSLR this time I’ll be on vacation next week so I’m hoping to get a lot done and actually do some spring cleaning…in the fall. Yep. Hehe
More cool stuff coming. Thanks for visiting!
Sorry for a short post tonight, but I wanted to get a few photos up before heading out. I painted the rear part of the Vigilon to get a sense of the color-scheme (military/HALO-ish) and from that I think the gun will look pretty cool when it’s all done. I also started breaking up the canvas that is my NERF version of Vera from the TV show Firefly. That’s one heck of a detailed prop and so I’m doing my best to replicate the different surfaces. I’m certain it will look good when it’s done, but I’m shooting for great so we’ll see how the next week goes!
Enjoy the pictures and thank you for visiting my humble little blog site.
Thanks to a generous gift in the mail today , I started work on a custom painted Nerf Vigilon from the upcoming Vortex series. It was stamped with a few odd phrases…DO. NOT. SELL. I didn’t pay a dime, so I’m going to assume I won’t have my doors kicked in any time soon! I posted some photos below of the gun out of the box as well as into the sanding phase. It’s got putty drying right now, but tomorrow I should be ready to base coat and then get after masking this weekend. I’m really looking forward to seeing how it comes out, because I have no idea what I’m going to do with it at the moment
Stay tuned, as the photos show there are some other cool props in the works as well! Add me on facebook if you want to see more WIP photos of this and all the other silliness! facebook.com/johnson.arms
